I heard an interesting story today: a survey was taken of 50 individuals over the age of 95 who were asked what their main regret was in life. The most common response was "not taking enough risks." You'd think it would be "I wish I had more money" or "I wish I was more successful…" but nope — they wish they had taken more risks.
I've heard this whole "face your fear" stuff quite a bit these past few weeks and knew it was God's little reminders to myself to STOP BEING A PUNK and face some of my fears.
While out running some errands, the urge to be less of a punk spontaneously came over me and I decided to try a strategy I knew I should've tried ages ago…And it wasn't so bad…And it worked! It's an important aspect of growing my biz and it was time I got over myself and did it.
Now, I need to focus on doing it again…and again…and again. So if you've been afraid to do something – whether personally or professionally, suck it up and do it! Nine times out of ten, it's sooooo much simpler than you thought. And if you fail, who cares? Get up and try again! Don't waste time like I've done thinking waaaaaay too much. Get out of your head and git to steppin'! Dreams don't come true if they stay inside your head. You've gotta DO something to make them happen – even if occasionally have to fight the fear of crapping your pants in order to do them.
Peace out and Happy Thursday!

Wow. That is an interesting survey of older people. I too would have thought that their answer would have been to have more money. I also know that taking risks is – will it's risky. That is why we avoid it. But since I am a baby boomer, I am starting to see the light and taking 'smart' risks can also be fun!
I know — that survey is so shocking!! I’m glad to see you’re starting to take ‘smart’ risks. Thanks for visiting and commenting Pat
I read that survey in a book written by John C. Maxwell years ago. Powerful and life changing. Great post Thea. Looking for more
Hey Claudia,
Ah, I didn’t know it was from John Maxwell’s book. Cool! Thanks
I loved this article! As a chronic risk taker, it made me feel pretty good! I can see how playing it safe can be one of the bigger regrets someone might have. This reminded me how we have to take a chance if we want to do big things with our lives! Thanks
Hey Michelle,
Ooooo — “Chronic Risk Taker” — I like that title. Thanks for your comments — I’m glad it reminded you to keep doing your thang girl
